Sugar-free brownies recipe with almond slices on top, served on a rustic burlap cloth.

Easy Homemade Brownies

Chocolate Craving

There’s something magical about chocolate. It drips slowly onto the tongue, warming you with the first bite. And it’s not only psychological: chocolate actually boosts serotonin, the “feel-good” chemical in your brain. It lifts your mood, calms your cravings, and leaves you feeling satisfied without the need for extra sugar.

This is not your typical sugar-free brownie. It’s a warm, nostalgic dessert adapted from my mother’s original recipe — soft, delicious , and comforting with every bite. I’ve slightly adjusted it by replacing the sugar, but the soul of the recipe remains untouched. It’s the kind of treat that reminds you of home, of family, and of the simple joy of sharing something sweet.
Topped with velvety chocolate sauce while still warm, this brownies melts in your mouth and hugs your heart. Whether it’s for a small celebration or just for you, this dessert brings a moment of comfort and indulgence.

Rich and Easy to Make

It’s simple and made with love. No fancy steps, just real, easy homemade brownies.
This is the kind of recipe that stays in the family. I asked my mom for it, and now I’m passing it on to you.

Ingredients:
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 250ml milk
  • 1 pack of butter (approx. 200g)
  • 4 eggs – in this recipe, the eggs are separated into yolks and whites.
  • 200g flour
  • 2 sachets vanilla sugar (or 2 tsp vanilla extract)
  • 1 sachet baking powder (about 10g)
  • 400g sugar (you can replace with a sugar substitute if desired)

Replace the 400g of sugar with 550-580g of allulose.
It has a similar texture and sweetness, making it a perfect, healthier alternative to sugar in brownies.

Instructions:
  1. In a small pot, add the sugar, butter, milk, and cocoa powder.
  2. Warm over medium heat for about 5 minutes, just until the butter melts and everything is well combined. Stir gently.
  3. Remove from heat and take out 20 full tablespoons of this chocolate mixture. Place it in a separate bowl — this will be used as the frosting later.
  4. Let the remaining chocolate mixture cool down slightly.
  5. Once it’s cool, add the egg yolks, vanilla, baking powder, and flour. Mix until smooth.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold them into the chocolate batter.
  7. Pour the batter into a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 30–35 minutes, or until set but soft inside.

• While the brownies are baking, take the bowl with the 20 tablespoons you set aside earlier and add a few pieces of sugar-free chocolate. Warm the bowl on low heat, stirring gently until the chocolate melts and forms a smooth sauce.

•  Once the brownies are done baking and slightly cooled, pour the warm chocolate sauce over the top. Let it soak or spread it evenly.

Extra Chocolate Sauce?

Yes, Please.

If you love that rich, gooey texture, don’t hesitate to pour a little extra sauce on top. You can even warm it up before serving for that irresistible melt-in-your-mouth feeling. The contrast between the soft brownie and the warm chocolate drizzle makes each bite unforgettable. It’s comfort food at its best, simple, satisfying, and made to be shared (or not!).

Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients:
  •  3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  •  100 ml milk (use almond, oat, or coconut milk for a vegan option)
  •  1-2 tablespoon coconut oil (or unsalted butter)
  •  1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •   2–3 tablespoons natural liquid sweetener (like agave syrup, date syrup, or liquid erythritol), to taste.
  •  A pinch of salt (optional, to enhance the flavor)
Instructions:
  1. In a small saucepan, mix the cocoa powder with a little bit of milk to form a smooth paste (no lumps).
  2. Add the rest of the milk, coconut oil, and salt. Place over low heat and stir continuously.
  3. Once it begins to warm, add the sweetener and vanilla extract.
  4. Let it simmer gently for 3–5 minutes, stirring often, until it becomes glossy and slightly thickened. Don’t let it boil hard. You can add more warm milk if it becomes too thick.
  5. Drizzle warm over brownies. If you want a thicker, fudge-like texture, let it cool slightly before serving.

This homemade chocolate sauce is not just for brownies — you can drizzle it over pancakes, ice cream, or even a slice of banana bread. It’s quick to make, rich in flavor, and perfect for anyone who loves simple, comforting desserts. I always keep a small jar in the fridge — just warm it up and enjoy a little moment of sweetness anytime you need it.
